Liam's First Day

Hello folks. Sorry I've been lazy with the blog...it has been crazy with school and soccer and everything. Speaking of school..we got rid of one more kid this year. Liam started the big K. Here he is on his first day. As you can imagine, he was a natural and is already loved by all the little girls in the class. He thinks he could do without going to school, except on cleaning day...then he likes it.

Beachfront property

We got over 6 inches of rain in just over 2 hours last week....and that was after 10 days of nothing. I almost called the insurance agency to get flood damage added to our policy, haha. They guy behind us has a shed that almost got covered, but he sqeaked by.

Ahhh, to be able to sleep like a baby.

Man, this looks like a cozy bed. I was jealous.

A Peek At Pika

I am truly insane. We have added yet another family member. Pikachu (pronounced "peek-a-choo" and we call her Pika for short) joined us about 3 weeks ago. We went with our neighbors when they went to get a set (That's right, they got 2!!) of puppies and Liam fell in love with the smallest little girl of the bunch. She was so sweet and good natured that I just melted. She is an 8 week old Shih-poo, which is a cross of Shitzhu and poodle. She only weighs 1 lb 6 oz, so taking care of her is like taking care of a walking loofa. Our biggest worry is stepping on(and sitting on and dropping and shutting doors on) her, which has been done...a bunch. Luckily, she seems to be made out of rubber and she is a little trooper. She seems to like the boys, as hard as they are on her. She is a little nervous around Owen, but as you can see from the picture, she keeps coming back for more. She loves to go down the street and play with her brother and sister. She is even starting to use the "doggy door" a little, so I think she'll be housebroken pretty soon.
She will usually sleep through the night and is overall pretty quiet. On walks she keeps up with Java (No one can keep up with Indy.) The other dogs don't really care for her much, but then they are old and cranky and don't like the kids much either. I guess that's one of the reasons I broke down and got a puppy....to the boys, the older dogs are just cranky. This is a pet that actually likes to play with them. So that's Pikachu....I am sure she'll have lots of stories to tell over the years.
