Liam's school trip to a farm
Liam's school trip this year was to Learning Tree Farm. He got to play with all kinds of animal, and even saw a baby cow just an hour after it was born. (The director of the farm said if we got there any earlier she would have had some explaining to do regarding where baby cows come from.) His other excitement included being trampled by one of the sheep. He got to swing from ropes hanging from the barn ceiling, plant his own flower from the gardens, and climb on rocks. Finally, he got to run through a field.
After all that, a lot of the kids (not Liam, thank goodness) asked, "Where is the playground."

Ryan finally ditched the training wheels.
When he finally got it...he really got it. We can't keep him home now. I am going to nickname him "Lance (Armstrong)"
Liam's 100s Day Project
Every year at the boys' school the kindergardners do a project to celebrate "only 100 days of school left." The real object of the project is to teach them to count to 100. They are supposed to put together a display using 100 of anything. They can put it together in any way, i.e. poster with 100 things, birdhouse made of 100 popsicle sticks, etc. Liam chose to do a poster with 100 fake bugs glued to it....figures.

Basketball Trophy Night
Tonight was the night that the guys got their basketball trophies. This place did it up right. Huge auditiorium with smoke machine, concert quality sound playing rock music while a montage of the kids showed on three movie size screens. Then they were off to cookies and juice. From there it was off to two different gyms each filled with giant "bouncers." They even had a guy there air brushing "tattoos." Owen got to run around greeting his favorite neighbors with his new favorite "knuckle bump." Liam was excited that this was his first ever trophy.

Science Fair Project
Well, here are the guys, Ryan and Chandler, in front of their first ever science fair project. They tested 100 people by letting them taste different colors of Jello (all lemon with food color added) to see what flavor they thought it was. People tender to guess cherry, strawberery or orange for the red, lime or green apple for the green etc. Only 1 out of 100 thought they were all the same. At the third grade level, there are no prizes, but they presented in front of a judge and were awarded 15% bonus to their science grade.

First Hair Cut
Well, my little punk rocker had his locks shorn, so now he is just a regular boy. Of all my kids, Owen was the hardest to convince to get his hair cut. He did not want anything to do with that lady with the scissors. Even a lollipop couldn't convice him that this was a good idea. Finally, I sat down with him and he let her work her magic. Overall, I don't like the cut. He looks like a little monk now. Oh well, he is an adorable little monk.

Birthday Boy Ryan
We survived another sleep-over. (I am told by my husband that boys don't have slumber parties...they have sleep-overs.) Ryan had 3 of his friends over for the night. Goodie bags, pizza, ice cream and junk food flowed freely. War was played, movies were watched and much fun was had by all. Liam was a bit miffed that had to sleep upstairs in his own bed, but we bought him his own sleeping bag and let him sleep with it in his bed. My insane oldest child stayed up (secretly, of course) until 3 am! In the morning, we made the traditional "monkey bread" and it took a crowbar to pry everyone out of the house when it was time for them to go.

Trouble X 3
This was after a day in the snow. The guys posed for a photo they could email to Mom while she was at work. Sometimes, they actually do get along....sometimes.
Owen says...
"See my new set up. This is really the same old crib, but Dad took the rail off because I climbed over it and took a header onto the floor. Lucky my head is hard and the carpet is soft. I really like the new 'crib.' I can get in and out whenever I want. I like to sleep so I don't crawl out much. But once in a while it is fun to surprise Mom or Dad by waiting by the door for them when they come to get me. I have a little cubby right by the door where I sit with my binky and my blanky. One morning, I even grabbed a good book to pass the time."
